About Audio, Communication & Navigation

Sound and communication gear on a UTV or ATV has to compete with engine noise, wind, vibration, mud and water. Riders shop here to add music to a machine that came without a stereo, replace blown or weathered speakers, or talk to a passenger or another rider over a helmet headset or radio.

The category divides by job. For music, you need a source such as a receiver from Infotainment & Multimedia Players, speakers from Speakers and usually power from Amplifiers, with Wiring Harnesses, Cables & Connectors to tie them together. Complete Audio Kits bundle matched parts for a particular machine. For talking, see Headsets & Intercoms. Look for water and dust resistance on anything mounted outside the cab.

Brands here include Kicker, Cardo, RAM Mounts, Jensen and Sena. Also see Other Audio, Communication & Navigation. Pick your machine in the Ride Finder at the top of the page for parts made for it, and see why a part did not fit before you order.

FAQs on UTV and ATV audio and communication

What do I need to add music to a UTV that has no radio?

You need a source, such as a Bluetooth or AM/FM receiver, speakers, power for them and the wiring that connects everything to the machine's electrical system. A complete audio kit for your model supplies a matched set, and a model-specific harness makes the wiring simpler.

How do I protect UTV audio gear from water and dust?

Choose parts described as weatherproof or water resistant, mount them where they are not in the direct path of spray, and seal the wiring connections. Washing the machine with a pressure washer can still force water into a unit, so aim the water away from audio parts.

Are Bluetooth headsets and intercoms from different brands compatible?

Phone pairing usually works with any Bluetooth headset, but intercom features such as rider-to-rider talk often work best between units of the same system. Some units offer a universal pairing mode with fewer features, so check the product details.

Will audio gear drain my UTV battery?

Audio gear draws power while it is on, and powered amplifiers draw more, so using it with the engine off for long can run the battery down. Connect it to a fused circuit as the instructions describe, and keep the charging system in good condition.
