Daytime Running Lights
About Daytime Running Lights
Daytime running lights stay on while the machine runs so that other riders and drivers can see it from a distance, in daylight and in dust. Owners add them to improve how visible a UTV or ATV is on shared trails, or fit a kit that includes them.
This is a small category. The listings include LED halo headlight conversion kits for the 2015 to 2021 Polaris General and General 4 1000 EPS Ride Command Edition and for the 2016 to 2023 Honda Pioneer 1000-5. Red running light kits are listed for the Xpedition and RZR, and for the Maverick R. A halo-style kit adds a ring of light around the headlight. These kits are model-specific, so check the year range in the listing and pick your machine in the Ride Finder at the top of the page.
Brands here are Ravek and Brite-Lites. For related lights, see Headlight Assemblies, Fog Light Assemblies and Turn Signal Light Assemblies, all part of Lighting & Lamps.
FAQs on daytime running lights
Do daytime running lights replace the headlights?
No. Running lights are for being seen, not for lighting the trail. For night riding you still need headlights or auxiliary lights, so treat running lights as an addition, and check your manual before changing the headlight circuit.
How are running lights usually wired?
Many kits tap an existing headlight or accessory circuit, or a switched power source, so the lights come on with the machine. Follow the kit instructions, use a fuse, and keep splices sealed so water does not reach them.
What does a halo headlight conversion kit change?
A halo kit converts the headlight to LED and adds a ring, or halo, of light around it. It is made for specific models and years, so compare the listing with your machine and read the notes on how it is wired.
Will a conversion kit fit my model year?
Only if the listing names it. Kits here show specific year ranges, such as 2015 to 2021 for some Polaris models and 2016 to 2023 for the Honda Pioneer 1000-5. Headlight shape and plugs change between years.
