About Sockets, Connectors & Wiring
Lighting works only as well as its wiring. Harnesses, sockets and connectors carry power from the machine to each light and switch without cutting into factory wire, and an old harness or loose connection is a common reason a light flickers or fails.
The listings here include harnesses for light bars from 10 to 40 inches, one-light 3-pin and two-light 2-pin harnesses, a rocker switch harness, an 84 inch extension harness for rock lights and a 6 inch Y-splitter harness. There are also front turn signal wire harnesses for several makes, a taillight socket with pigtail and connector, a dual USB charger, and dome light Hi-Jack harness kits for the 2025 to 2026 Polaris Ranger Crew and the 2026 Can-Am Defender. Match the connector style and pin count to the light, choose a harness length that reaches without strain, and choose a model-specific kit only when the listing names your machine.
Keep connections sealed and secure, and fuse the circuit. Brands here include Heretic, Rigid Industries, Vision X and Ravek. For related parts, see Hardware, Mounts & Brackets, Turn Signal Light Assemblies and Tail & Brake Light Assemblies, all part of Lighting & Lamps.
FAQs on lighting wiring and connectors
How do I know which connector my light needs?
Look at the plug on the light itself. Compare its shape and the number of pins with the harness in the listing, such as a 3-pin or 2-pin type. If the listing names your light or machine, that helps, but check the plug first.
Do I need a fuse and relay with a wiring harness?
Follow the light maker's instructions. A light with significant current draw should be wired through a relay and a fuse, with the switch triggering the relay. The fuse protects the wiring if something shorts, so place it close to the power source.
What does a Y-splitter harness do?
A Y-splitter divides one connection into two, so one switch or power point can run two lights. The combined draw of both lights must stay within what the circuit, switch and wiring are rated for.
How do I make lighting connections weatherproof?
Use sealed connectors, add dielectric grease where the maker suggests it, and route wire away from heat, sharp edges and moving parts. Secure the harness with ties so vibration does not rub through the insulation.
