Headlight Assemblies
About Headlight Assemblies
The headlight is the main light on the front of a UTV or ATV, and the one you notice most when a trail ride runs past dusk. Riders replace one because of a cracked lens or shell after a crash, a dead or dim halogen unit, or to upgrade to LED.
The listings here include halogen and LED headlights, a 2-piece LED headlight conversion kit for the 2014 to 2021 Polaris Trail 900 and RZR 900, and Vision X spotlight headlight kits, some with halo, for the RZR. Headlight shells are listed for the older Honda ATC250R, ATC250X and ATC350X in red and white. A few listings carry only a model name, such as Ranger, Talon and KRX, or are marked universal, so open them to see exactly what is included. Pick your machine in the Ride Finder at the top of the page.
A conversion kit replaces the original headlight with an LED unit and may need a plug adapter or wiring changes, so check what is included. A complete assembly is the right choice when the housing, lens or reflector is cracked or fogged, and a bulb alone is enough when only the bulb has failed.
Brands here include Heretic, Custom Dynamics, Rigid Industries, Vision X and Maier. For related parts, see Fog Light Assemblies, Daytime Running Lights and Lenses, all part of Lighting & Lamps.
FAQs on UTV and ATV headlights
When do I need a complete headlight assembly instead of a bulb?
Choose an assembly when the housing, lens or reflector is cracked, cloudy or filled with water. If only the bulb has burned out and the housing is sound, replace the bulb. Check the bulb type in your manual.
Will an LED headlight conversion fit my machine?
Only if the kit is listed for your make, model and year. Headlight shape, mounting and plugs vary between machines and years, and some kits need an adapter. Read what the listing says is included.
What is a headlight shell?
A headlight shell is the housing that holds the light and sits on the front of the machine. Shells are listed here for older Honda ATC models, and a shell needs the right model, because mounting points and shape differ.
How do I aim a headlight?
Park on level ground facing a wall, adjust the light so the beam sits where your manual says and does not point into other riders' eyes, then tighten the adjusters. Recheck after fitting a new headlight or changing load.
