About Other Electrical & Ignition Components
This page holds electrical and ignition parts that do not belong in the other electrical groups, so the contents are mixed. The listings include USB ports and chargers, battery relocation and busbar wiring kits, model-specific ignition systems, and rope starter handles and ropes. Riders usually come here to add a charging port for a phone or GPS, to rework the battery wiring, or to replace a frayed starter rope.
Check what each part connects to before you order. A panel-mount USB port or single-port charger needs a 12-volt feed and a place to mount it, and it should be wired through a fuse. Battery relocation and busbar kits are made for particular machines, and one listing here is for a 2014 to 2024 Polaris XP 4 1000, so match your model and year. Ignition systems are listed by make, with Yamaha and Honda examples. A non-programmable system has a fixed timing curve that you cannot change, unlike a programmable unit that can be tuned.
Brands in this category include AntiGravity, Helix, Jensen, Saddle Tramp and Quad Logic. Pick your machine in the Ride Finder at the top of the page for the parts built for it, and read the fitment notes in why a part didn't fit if you are unsure. FAQs on UTV and ATV electrical accessories
Can I add a USB charger to my UTV or ATV myself?
Usually yes. A USB charger runs from the machine's 12-volt power, so wire it through a fuse, mount it where water and mud will not reach it, and use weather-sealed connectors. Connect it to a switched source if you do not want it drawing power when the machine is parked.
What does a battery relocation kit do?
A battery relocation kit supplies the longer cables and hardware needed to mount the battery somewhere other than its stock position. Use the cable size the kit specifies, protect the run with the fuse or circuit breaker it includes, and keep the cables clear of heat and moving parts.
What is a non-programmable ignition system?
A non-programmable ignition system uses a fixed spark timing curve built into the unit. You cannot adjust it with software or a handheld tuner. It is a straightforward replacement when the stock ignition has failed, as long as it is listed for your make and model.
What fuse size should I use for an added accessory?
Size the fuse to the accessory's current draw, using the maker's instructions, and make sure the wire can carry at least that much current. The fuse protects the wire, so it goes close to the power source. A fuse far above the draw will not protect the circuit.
Should I disconnect the battery before working on electrical parts?
Yes. Disconnect the negative cable first and reconnect it last. That removes the risk of a dropped wrench shorting across the terminals and prevents sparks near the battery while you work on wiring, chargers or ignition parts.
