Built as a lighter, softer evolution of Michelin's Desert Race tire, the Desert Race Baja shaves roughly 500 grams of unsprung mass while reinforcing tread blocks for increased traction in soft terrain. Directional V-shaped central knobs bite hard into deep sand for acceleration, and their radius and clearance angles are tuned specifically for braking support. A more open, higher void-ratio tread pattern and softer overall architecture deliver tremendous high-speed stability once the sand gets deep. This 18-inch-rim rear, rated 70R, is a serious desert-racing tire for riders who spend real time in sand.
