Michelin Motorcycle and Scooter Tires

About 380 Michelin listings run from 2.50-10 minibike tires and 100/80-10 scooter sizes to 240/40R18 cruiser rears and 200/55ZR17 sport rears. Nearly all of it sits in Tires, with a few tubes, mousse inserts and wheel parts beside it in Other Wheel & Tire Parts.

Britannica says Michelin was founded in 1888 by the brothers André and Édouard Michelin and is headquartered in Clermont-Ferrand, France.

Sport and road. The Power line runs from the Power 5 rear in 190/50ZR17 to the Power 6 front in 120/70ZR17 and the Power GP2 rear in 190/55ZR17, with Pilot Power 2CT alongside. Road-biased names include the Road 6 front in 120/70ZR18, the Road 5 front in 120/70ZR17, the Pilot Road 4 GT front and the Road Classic rear in 130/90B17, one of about 18 Road Classic sizes.

Cruiser and touring. About 45 Commander listings, among them the Commander III Cruiser rear in 150/90B15, the Commander III Touring front in 130/60B19 and the Commander II Cruiser rear in 170/80B15. The Scorcher family is larger still, at about 65 listings, with sizes such as the Scorcher 31 front in 130/70B18 and the Scorcher 11 rear in 240/40R18.

Adventure and dual sport. Around 50 Anakee listings, including the Anakee Adventure 2 rear in 180/55R17, the Anakee Wild front in 90/90-21, the Anakee Road front in 110/80R19 and the Anakee III rear in 150/70R17.

Dirt and enduro. The StarCross has about 35 listings across StarCross 5 and 6, sold by compound and terrain: the StarCross 6 Sand rear in 100/90-19, the StarCross 6 Mud rear, the StarCross 5 Mini front in 2.50-12 and the Enduro Medium 2 front in 90/100-21.

Scooter and city. City Grip 2 is about 35 listings in 10- to 16-inch sizes, for example the 110/90-13 front and the 150/70-13 rear. Smaller street sizes include the Pilot Street 2 in 90/90-10 and the City Extra rear in 2.50-17.

Extras: mousse, tubes and Tweel

Bib Mousse inserts come in Standard, Enduro and Enduro Extreme, like the Bib Mousse Enduro Extreme, with a mounting gel listed separately. About 30 inner tubes are listed by the tire sizes they fit. The X Tweel UTV, such as the 26x9N14, sits in Wheels & Rims.

Reading a Michelin title

Most titles put the part number, family, Front or Rear and size in that order. On a motorcycle size like 150/70R17 the pieces are width, profile and rim diameter; on scooter sizes such as 120/70-12 a hyphen replaces the R. Take the size from the tire you are replacing, and treat a Reinforced listing as separate from the standard tire in the same size.

Michelin questions

Do you list tires without Front or Rear in the title? Yes. Some, like the City Grip 2 in 110/70-12, name only the size, so check the listing for position.

Are Michelin inner tubes sold separately? Yes. Each tube listing names the tire sizes it fits.

Do you carry Michelin for UTVs? The X Tweel UTV is listed in 26x9N14 and 26x11N14, filed under Wheels & Rims.
