The company was started in Japan in 1954 by Hideo "Pops" Yoshimura, and Yoshimura R&D of America is based in Chino, California, according to the company's own website.

Street and sport bike slip-ons. Our largest group, with about 100 slip-on mufflers across lines such as R-77, Alpha, AT2 and RS-5. Examples: the R-77 slip-on for the 2016-2018 Honda CBR500R and CB500F and the AT2 Works slip-on for the 2006-2020 Yamaha YZF-R6, which the listing says has a matte carbon fiber end cap and the Yoshimura Works Finish.

Full systems. Complete systems for bikes such as the Kawasaki Ninja 650 (RS-4), plus RS-5 and TRC systems for Honda, Suzuki and Kawasaki sport bikes.

Yoshimura parts are year and model specific, and some listings span a long range of years, so confirm your exact bike before ordering. The RS-12 spark arrestor listings point to Yoshimura's insert chart to confirm fitment. What do codes like SS-AL-CF mean? In the listing names the letters stand for the materials of the header, canister and end cap in order: SS stainless steel, AL aluminum, CF carbon fiber.

What is the Works Finish? Listings call it an exclusive Yoshimura finish, used on AT2 and Alpha slip-ons with a matte carbon fiber end cap.

Does a Yoshimura exhaust come with a sound insert or spark arrestor? It depends on the line. Some listings say they are sound-insert or spark-arrestor compatible, and RS-12 inserts are sold separately.
