WISECO

Wiseco Pistons, Top-End Kits and Rebuild Parts

Wiseco is a bore-and-model brand: if you know your engine, the title gets you to the part. We list about 1,400 Wiseco products, nearly all pistons and the parts that go around them, with roughly 945 under Motorcycle, 280 under UTV | ATV, 155 under Snowmobile and about 25 in Personal Watercraft.

Wiseco's own history page says Clyde Wiseman founded the company in 1941 in Cleveland, Ohio, after making big-bore marine engine pistons in his garage in 1940, and that it later moved into ATV, motorcycle, snowmobile and watercraft pistons.

Piston kits for dirt bikes and dual-sports

Pistons, Rings & Piston Kits holds about 655 listings. Titles give the bore in millimeters and the model, such as the 54.00 mm kit for the Honda CR125R, the 68.50 mm kit for the Yamaha YZ250, the 48.50 mm kit for the Kawasaki KX85 and the 78.00 mm kit for the KTM 380SX/380EXC. Four-stroke examples include the 96.00 mm kit for the CRF450R/RX and the 97.00 mm kit for the YZ450F/FX and WR450F.

Some titles carry a line name. About 65 say ArmorGlide, such as the ArmorGlide 76.80 mm kit for the '10-'13 CRF250R. About 60 say Pro-Lite, like the Pro-Lite 54.0 mm kit for the '22-'25 YZ125. Thirteen say Black Edition, among them the 90.50 mm Polaris kit.

Harley-Davidson V-twin

About 45 listings are named by displacement rather than bore. Twenty-two are Tracker Series kits, such as the Twin Cam 88 bored to 95 cubic inch and the 883 XL bored to 1200 cc. The Twin Cam 88/96/103 kit bored to 1746 cc and the XL 1200 and Buell kit round out the range.

ATV, snowmobile and watercraft

ATV titles run from the 66.00 mm Honda TRX250R kit to the 64.00 mm Yamaha Banshee kit and the Polaris Sportsman 400 kit. Snow listings in Snowmobile Engine Components are mostly kits with gaskets, about 50 for Ski-Doo and 35 for Arctic Cat, such as the Ski-Doo 593 kit, 76.00 mm, the Arctic Cat 800 kit, 85.00 mm and the Yamaha 700 Viper kit. For watercraft there is the 100.00 mm Sea-Doo kit.

Rings, pins and small parts

About 135 listings are ring sets or single rings, like the 3347KD ring set and the 88.00 mm ring marked for Wiseco pistons only. Smaller items include wrist pins, circlips, top end bearings and cam chains.

Rebuild kits and engine parts

Engine Rebuild Kits & Components lists about 48 Wiseco kits, such as the CRF450R 96.00 mm kit and the KX250F 77.00 mm kit. Nine are Garage Buddy kits, including the Yamaha Blaster one. Also here are 17 crankshaft kits such as the YZ125 kit, 15 valve kits such as the KX450F kit, single engine valves like the CRF150R exhaust valve, and 27 clutch baskets such as the CRF250R basket.

Reading a Wiseco title

Most titles open with the Wiseco part number, then the bore, the model and often the years. Check the bore against your cylinder, because standard and oversize kits are separate listings, marked STD or with a figure such as +0.50. Some titles say "with Gaskets" and others do not, so read the full name.

Wiseco questions

How do I pick the right bore? Match the millimeter figure in the title to your engine's current bore, and choose the STD or oversize listing that fits.

Do you sell rings on their own? Yes, as ring sets and single rings, several marked "for Wiseco pistons only".

Does a kit come with gaskets? Only where the title says so, as in the snowmobile kits with gaskets.
