VORTEX
Vortex Sprockets, Chain Kits, Rearsets and Frame Sliders
Vortex is a sport-bike drivetrain catalog first, so start with the sprocket or chain kit for your bike and add the chassis parts after. We list about 1,550 Vortex products, with roughly 1,540 under Motorcycle and a small group of sprockets, chains and tie-downs under UTV | ATV. About 1,220 sit in Sprockets, and nearly every title leads with the Vortex part number and ends with the bike and year range.
Rear sprockets
Titles name the line, material, tooth count and chain size. About 370 say CAT5, such as the CAT5 in black, 44 tooth and the 48-tooth red 530 CAT5 for GSX-R1000 and YZF-R6S. About 90 say F5, like the F5 rear, 43 tooth. Around 560 titles say aluminum, and about 95 are steel, such as the steel 43-tooth for Suzuki and Triumph. Colors in the titles are black, silver, gold, blue and red.
Fitment runs wide. The Ducati Multistrada 1000 rear, the Desmosedici and 999S rear, the Hayabusa rear, the BMW rear in 525 and the Honda Grom 420 rear are typical.
Front sprockets
About 55 listings are front sprockets, named by tooth count, such as the 15-tooth and 17-tooth. Steel front countershaft sprockets also appear for Ducati, like the 14-tooth for the '02-'12 Monster.
Chain and sprocket kits
Roughly 570 titles are kits. The title gives the tooth counts, the chain series (SX3 or RX3), the chain color and the link count, such as the Yamaha YZF-R1 '98-'03 steel/aluminum kit, 15/45 tooth, the Honda Interceptor '90-'97 kit, 16/43 tooth and the Kawasaki Ninja 300 gold kit. Final Drive Kits holds the "Chain and Sprocket Kit" listings, such as the BMW S1000RR kit.
Chains and links
Final Drive Belts & Chains lists about 50 motorcycle chains, with the 520 RX3, 120 links, the gold 525 RX3, 114 links and rivet connecting links such as the 520 RX3 link.
Rearsets, clip-ons and sliders
About 25 listings are rearsets, among them the V2 for the R6, the GSX-R1000 V2 and the Ninja 400 rearset. About 20 are 7-degree clip-ons by tube diameter, like the 48 mm for the GSX-R1000 and CBR600RR. Frame slider kits run to 22 listings, such as the YZF-R6, Ninja 300 and CBR1000RR kits. Add swingarm spools in 6, 8 and 10 mm and bar end sliders, both in Skid Plates, Sliders & Spools. There are 17 lowering links too, such as the CBR600RR 2.00 inch and the ZX-10R 1.50 inch.
Matching a Vortex part
Read the Vortex part number, then the bike and year range. For sprockets, check tooth count and chain size (420, 520, 525 or 530) against your current setup.
Vortex questions
Do kits include the chain? Titles for chain and sprocket kits name the chain series and link count, so the chain is part of the listing.
What do CAT5 and F5 mean? They are Vortex line names that appear in the titles. Open the listing for details on each.
Do you list parts for ATVs? A small group, such as Suzuki steel rear sprockets and Kawasaki/Yamaha front sprockets, is filed under UTV | ATV.
