FAQ — Big Radius Exhaust System

+ How loud is the Big Radius exhaust — is there a decibel rating?

Vance & Hines does not publish an official decibel rating for this exhaust, so we won't guess a number here. It's a full 2-into-2 aftermarket system, so expect a noticeably louder, deeper exhaust note than stock. This system is not compatible with the Vance & Hines Quiet Baffle 23081, so there's no way to dial the volume back down after installing it — if a quieter note matters to you, ask us using the chat widget on this page before ordering. If you're subject to a local sound-ordinance limit, check your state/local regulations as well, since we can't confirm a dB figure to compare against.

+ Does this exhaust increase horsepower?

Vance & Hines states the PCX™ (Power Chamber Exhaust) technology and chambered high-flow catalyst cartridge are designed to increase torque as you accelerate through the gears. The brand doesn't publish a specific horsepower or torque number for this system, so we won't quote one here — if exact dyno figures matter to your decision, ask us using the chat widget on this page and we'll help track down what's available.

+ What's included in the box?

This is a complete Big Radius 2-into-2 system — black-finished head pipes, mufflers, full-coverage heat shields, mounting hardware, and installation instructions are all included. No separate hardware purchase is needed to bolt it on.

+ Will this fit my Fat Boy or Breakout — do the years matter?

Yes, fitment is year- and model-specific. This exhaust fits six Harley-Davidson Softail models: FLFB Fat Boy 107 (2018-2019), FLFBS Fat Boy 114 (2018-2024), FXBR Breakout 107 (2018-2019), FXBR Breakout 117 (2023-2024), FXBRS Breakout 114 (2018-2020), and FXDRS FXDR 114 (2019-2020). It will NOT fit the other 2018+ Softail models — Street Bob, Fat Bob, Slim, Low Rider, or Standard/Deluxe — those use a different frame geometry this system isn't built for. Use the Fitment tab above or set your bike in the Ride Finder at the top of the page and we'll confirm the exact match before you order.

+ Is there anything to watch for during installation?

Vance & Hines notes a tight clearance to the cam cover on this system — .116" at its closest point, with a .250" minimum clearance spec — so double-check header routing against your cam cover during install. It's also not compatible with the Vance & Hines Quiet Baffle 23081 (1861-1204), so don't plan on adding one to this system later.

Frequently Asked Questions - VANCE & HINES - 46375 - Big Radius Exhaust System - Black

How do I know if this part fits my vehicle?

Check the fitment information listed on this page against your exact year, make, model, and (where applicable) trim, engine size, or configuration. If your exact vehicle isn't listed, or you're not sure, use the product chat on this page or contact our support team before ordering - we're glad to help confirm fitment.

What does it mean if a product is listed as universal fit?

Universal fit means the product is designed to work across a range of vehicles, not that it's guaranteed to fit every one. Compare the listed measurements, mounting requirements, and connector or hardware specs against your specific vehicle before ordering, since some installations may need additional hardware or minor fabrication.
