FAQ — Big Shots Staggered Exhaust System
+ How loud is the Big Shots Staggered exhaust — is there a decibel rating?
Vance & Hines does not publish an official decibel rating for this exhaust, so we won't guess a number here. It's a full staggered aftermarket system, so expect a noticeably louder, deeper exhaust note than stock. If you're subject to a local sound-ordinance limit, check your state/local regulations.
+ Does this exhaust increase horsepower?
Vance & Hines states the PCX™ (Power Chamber Exhaust) technology, power chamber hidden crossover, and chambered high-flow catalyst cartridge are designed to increase torque. The brand doesn't publish a specific horsepower or torque number for this system, so we won't quote one here — ask us using the chat widget on this page if exact dyno figures matter to your decision.
+ What's included in the box?
This is a complete Big Shots Staggered system in chrome with full coverage heat shields and a hidden power chamber crossover design.
+ Will this fit my Softail — do the years matter?
Yes, fitment is year- and model-specific. This exhaust fits 37 Harley-Davidson Softail models spanning 1986-2009 — including Heritage Softail, Fat Boy, Softail Standard, Night Train, Softail Deuce, Springer Softail, and Rocker/Rocker C, plus numerous Screamin' Eagle and CVO variants — with the exact years covered varying by model. Use the Fitment tab above or set your bike in the Ride Finder at the top of the page and we'll confirm the exact match before you order.
+ Is there a fuel tuner that fits this exhaust?
No — this exhaust fits 1986-2009 Softail models, which predates every current Vance & Hines Fuelpak tuning module's supported model-year range (coverage starts around 2011). Ask us using the chat widget on this page if you're running a carbureted or early-EFI Softail and want a tuning recommendation.
