Shaper Wear Bars mark the first major breakthrough in wear bar technology since the 1950s, using a corner-carving hourglass design that catches snow from the ski sides for better tracking and a noticeably tighter turning radius - typically 1 to 2 feet tighter in soft snow - without adding steering effort. They run about 20% lighter than conventional half-inch round wear bars, are zinc-plated for corrosion resistance, and wear at nearly the same lifetime rate as standard round and square bars. Designed and tested by USI and manufactured by Stud Boy, some models require drilling extra holes in the skis for installation.
