Race Tech Suspension Parts

Race Tech is the brand to look at when a bike's suspension feels wrong and you would rather fix the springs and valving than replace the whole fork. Our catalog has about 520 Race Tech products, almost all of them in Suspension & Handling: fork springs, shock springs, Gold Valve parts, seals, bushings and the shop tools used to install them. Most listings are for dirt bikes and dual-sport bikes from Kawasaki, Suzuki, KTM, Yamaha, Honda, Husqvarna, Gas Gas, Sherco and Beta.

Race Tech is based in Corona, California, and its site says it does suspension modifications with Gold Valve kits, rebuilds of stock and aftermarket suspension, replacement G3-S shocks and G6 forks, and engine work such as CNC porting.

What we stock

Fork springs. The biggest group, close to 100 listings in Fork Springs. They are sold by spring rate, for example the 0.52 kg/mm fork springs, the 0.46 kg/mm springs and a 0.32 kg fork spring for the 2019-2024 Yamaha YZ65.

Shock springs. More than 100 more, in Shocks & Coil Overs and Suspension Springs. Rates appear in kg or lb/in: the 3.8 kg shock spring for 2006-2024 Husqvarna, KTM, Sherco and Gas Gas, the 5.2 kg spring for the Honda CRF450RX and CRF250RX or the progressively wound P25 spring.

Gold Valve and front end kits. The Gold Valve Cartridge Fork Emulators and emulators for damping rod forks are for forks that do not have a cartridge, and the Complete Front End Suspension Kit pairs a spring with the valve parts. A handful of kits are for road bikes, including a Harley-Davidson fork kit and a Gold Valve kit for the Triumph Speed Triple 1050.

Seals, bushings and bladders. Super Slick fork bushings, shock seal sets in KYB and Showa sizes, and shock reservoir bladder kits.

Tools. Shop tools such as the fork spring compressor, the fork oil level tool and the shock spring compressor.

Choosing the right spring

Spring rate is the number that matters. It depends on how much the rider weighs with gear, the bike and how it is ridden, so if a bike feels too soft or too stiff for your weight, start there. Each listing shows the rate and the models it fits. Match the fork tube diameter, the shock shaft size (the 16 mm, 18 mm and similar figures in the seal and spacer listings) and the model years, since several springs list a range such as '05-'24 across multiple brands.

Race Tech questions

Do I need a Gold Valve kit or just a spring? A spring changes the rate; valving parts change how the oil damps the motion. The listing tells you what is in the box and which fork types it fits.

Can I install this myself? Race Tech says Gold Valve kits can be installed by the owner or by a dealer. Tools such as the spring compressors make the job safer.

Do you carry parts for kids' bikes? Yes, for example the YZ65 fork spring and the 85 cc KTM, Husqvarna and Gas Gas shock spring.
