PERFORMANCE MACHINE (PM)
Performance Machine (PM) Wheels, Brakes and Controls for Harley-Davidson
Almost every Performance Machine title ends with a finish: Chrome, Contrast Cut, Black Ops, Platinum Cut or Gold Ops. Pick the finish last and the part type first. We list about 545 Performance Machine products under Motorcycle, and most of the titles that name a bike name Harley-Davidson, including Touring, Softail, FXR and Sportster models.
The About Us page on performancemachine.com says the company began making custom motorcycle parts in a small shop in Paramount, California, in 1970.
Wheels
About 60 wheel listings sit mostly in Wheels & Rims, a few filed elsewhere. Roughly 40 are fronts (21x3.5) and 20 are rears (18x5.5). Titles name the design, the disc layout and whether the wheel is for ABS. Revolution, Assault and Nivis have the most listings, followed by Paramount, Formula and Phatour. Examples are the Paramount front, Dual Disc, Chrome, the Assault front in Black Ops and the Paramount front in Platinum Cut.
Brakes
Brake Calipers & Brackets is the largest group, with about 80 listings. They include 4-piston units such as the front left in Contrast Cut for 11.5" rotors, radial calipers sold left and right, and brackets like the Black bracket for '84-'99 FXR.
Brake Disc Rotors holds about 55. Sizes are 11.8" (about 30), 11.5" (about 15) and 13" (7). Named designs include Paramount, Revel, Torque, Supra and Dominator, for example the 13" Paramount in Platinum Cut and the Supra 11.8" in Chrome. Master cylinders come in 9/16", 5/8" and 11/16" bores, such as the Contour Billet 9/16" brake control. Small repair items are here too, like the 5/8" master cylinder rebuild kit and stainless caliper pistons.
Controls and cockpit
Grips are the busiest control item, about 35 listings across Other Handlebars, Grips & Controls and Grips, Covers & Pads. Look for Contour Color Grips in Gold, Overdrive Custom Grips for throttle-by-wire and Apex Heated Grips. Round out the bars with Vision mirrors and the Contour Billet clutch lever assembly.
For the feet, Footrests & Foot Pegs lists about 20, and Floorboards & Parts about 10, among them the Superlight driver floorboard. Shifters in Shift & Gear Levers include the Heel/Toe lever for FLHT.
Covers and air cleaners
Clutch Covers and Engine Covers hold derby, cam and rocker box covers, such as the Derby Cover for Touring in Black Ops. In Air Filters you will find about 30 air cleaner kits, among them the Super Gas kit in Chrome and the Super Gas kit in Black for '17-'23 models. Lower fork legs for dual or single disc, such as the 49 mm Chrome leg, sit in Fork Legs & Tubes.
Matching the part
Read the bike and year range in the title, then the finish code at the end of the part number, such as CH for Chrome or B for Black. Some titles name only the finish and a design, so open the listing and check the fitment before you order. Wheels also depend on ABS, front or rear and disc layout.
