Mirrors
About Mirrors
Mirrors let a rider check the traffic behind without turning away from the road, and on a motorcycle they stick out far enough to be among the first parts broken in a drop. Riders shop here to replace a cracked or missing mirror, to swap in a different style, or to fix a loose or vibrating mount.
The section divides into complete mirrors and the parts that go with them. Mirror Assemblies are the full units with housing, glass and stem, and Mirror Components covers mounts, adapters, glass and other separate pieces. The decisions are the same either way. Check how the mirror attaches: many use a threaded stem, with sizes such as M10 x 1.25 in the listings, and some left-side mirrors use a left-hand thread. Bar-end mirrors mount in the end of the handlebar instead. Then pick the shape, such as rectangle, oval or round, the stem length, the finish and whether the listing is for one side or a pair.
Brands listed here include VORTEX, CIRO, RAM MOUNTS, Drag Specialties and Parts Unlimited. Pick your bike in the Ride Finder at the top of the page to see mirrors made for it. If you are changing handlebars at the same time, see Handlebars, Grips & Controls, and for a refresher on matching parts to a model, read our guide to avoiding fitment mistakes.
FAQs on motorcycle mirrors
What thread size does my motorcycle mirror need?
Check the stem of your old mirror or the manual. Many bikes use M10 x 1.25, but sizes vary by make, and some left mirrors use a left-hand thread. Measure the thread, or pick your bike in the Ride Finder, instead of guessing.
Are motorcycle mirrors sold as a pair or one at a time?
Both. Listings say Each or Pair and name the side, such as Left or Right. Read the title before you order, because a left mirror will not fit the right side.
Can I fit bar-end mirrors on my motorcycle?
Often, if the handlebar ends are compatible. Bar-end mirrors mount inside the end of the bar, usually in place of a bar-end weight or plug. Check the listing for the bar type and diameter it fits.
How should I adjust my motorcycle mirrors?
Sit on the bike in your normal riding position and set each mirror so you see the lane behind you with only a small slice of your own arm or shoulder. Mirrors still have blind spots, so glance over your shoulder before changing lanes.
Can I replace only the glass in a cracked mirror?
Sometimes. Replacement glass is sold for some mirror shapes and sizes, so measure the glass and look for a match in Mirror Components. If the housing is damaged, replacing the whole mirror is usually the better choice.
