Machined from high-strength, T-5 heat-treated 390 hypereutectic aluminum alloy, KB Performance's KB348.005 piston kit is built to run tighter tolerances than stock. Each piston is diamond-machined and held to plus or minus one gram in weight and less than half a thousandth of an inch from piston to piston, and the kit ships complete with two pistons, pins, spiral-lock pin clips, and Hastings moly rings. That tighter fit reduces piston rock and improves ring seal, though KB notes that piston clearance and top ring end gap both need to be set according to the included instructions. Replacement piston rings are sold separately.
