EPI

EPI Clutch Kits, Drive Belts, CV Joints and Suspension Parts for UTVs and ATVs

EPI is a side-by-side and four-wheeler drivetrain brand, so the quickest way in is to name the machine, then the job: a clutch kit, a belt, an axle or a suspension repair. We list about 1,220 EPI products. Roughly 1,060 are under UTV | ATV, about 90 under Snowmobile and around 70 under Motorcycle. The largest group is clutch work in Clutch Parts & Kits, with about 545 listings.

EPI Performance's own site says the company has developed performance clutch kits for snowmobiles, ATVs and UTVs since 1991 and is based in Baxter, Minnesota.

Clutch kits

About 500 titles say clutch kit, and most name the machine and years. The line name tells you what the kit was set up for. About 65 say Mudder, such as the Mudder kit for the '15-'16 Polaris XP 1000 and the Mud Clutch Kit for the '16-'20 Can-Am Defender 800R. About 70 say Sport Utility, with a tire note and an altitude band in the title, like the Yamaha Viking kit for stock tires, 3-6000 ft and the Can-Am Outlander Max 500 kit for 27-28 inch tires.

About 35 are Dune kits, among them the Kawasaki Teryx kit and the RZR XP kit for paddle tires. Pro Series is a smaller group, with the Pro Series kit for the '14 Polaris XP 1000 as one example. Complete clutches are filed in Complete Clutches & Kits.

Rebuild parts and belts

Around 25 titles are clutch rebuild kits, like the WE210175. About 50 are weights, including the Pro Weights, 64 g, the 76 g weights for Polaris and roller weights, with a 12-pack of weight bushings. Springs are sold on their own, such as the primary spring and the red secondary spring.

About 45 listings are drive belts. Most say Severe Duty (about 28), for example the Polaris belt and the CF Moto belt, and the Pro Series belts say Extreme Duty, like the Polaris RZR belt.

Axles and joints

CV Joints, Boots & Parts has about 105 listings: roughly 40 CV joint kits and 45 boot kits. Titles name the position and the make, as in the Kawasaki front/rear outboard joint kit, the Polaris front inboard joint kit and the Polaris front outboard boot kit. Complete axles live in CV Axle Assemblies, among them the Super Duty rear axle kit for Polaris.

Steering and suspension

About 210 listings sit in Steering & Suspension. Tie Rods & Steering Linkages holds about 45, mostly tie rod ends such as the left/right outer end. Control Arms, Ball Joints & Assemblies has about 40, including the Can-Am lower ball joint, with an A-arm repair kit nearby. Other pieces include the rear wheel bearing kit for Polaris and heavy-duty ATV front springs, listed by spring rate in Suspension Springs.

Matching an EPI part

Read the EPI part number, then the machine and year range. For clutch kits, also check the tire size and the altitude band in the title, since the same machine can have several kits.

EPI questions

What does the 0-3000 or 3-6000 in a clutch kit title mean? It is an elevation range, written in feet in the title. Pick the one that matches where you ride.

Are CV joints and boots sold together? Joint kits and boot kits have separate listings, and complete axles are listed on their own.

Do you list EPI parts for snowmobiles and motorcycles? Yes, a smaller group, filed under Snowmobile and Motorcycle.
