BREMBO
Brembo Brake Pads and Serie Oro Rotors
Brembo is a pad catalog first. Of the roughly 330 Brembo products we list, about 285 are brake pad sets, filed under Brake Pads, with around 40 Serie Oro rotors in Brake Disc Rotors and three RSC master cylinders. About 25 of the listings sit in the UTV | ATV brake pads category.
The Brake Report, in a piece marking the company's 60th year, says Brembo began in 1961 in a small municipality near Bergamo, Italy, and that its first complete braking system was fitted as standard on Guzzi and Laverda motorcycles in 1972.
Pads, by compound
Brembo puts the compound in the title, so the quickest way to compare is to read that part first.
Carbon Ceramic. The largest family, about 85 listings, for example the 07YA0207 PRIME Carbon Ceramic pads and the 07HD1011 set. The product text on the 07YA0207 calls it a street pad.
Sinter SD, SA and SP. Three sintered families of 63, 57 and 39 listings. The 07GR20SD is described as an off-road pad for enduro riders, while the 07HD14SP is described as a street pad for rear applications. Other examples are the 07HD15SA and the 07HO66SP.
Smaller families. Sinter Genuine has 16 listings, Sinter LA nine, and Sinter SX, XS and XTRA SR a handful each, such as the 07BB27SX and the XTRA Sinter SR 07BB37SR.
Serie Oro rotors and master cylinders
Fixed rotors. About 30 listings, sold front or rear and by bike, like the front rotor for the Yamaha TT-R 230 and TW200 and the rear rotor for Husqvarna and Beta. The PRIME fixed disc, front/rear is one of eight with that name.
Floating rotors. About ten, including the front floating rotor for the Kawasaki and Suzuki KLX300R and KLX650R and the PRIME floating disc 78B40822.
RSC masters. Three units in Rebuild Kits & Parts: the dual-disc front brake master, the single-disc version and a front clutch master, all for 1" bars.
Matching a Brembo part to your bike
Most pad titles carry only the compound and a part number, not the bike, so open the listing and check the fitment text before you order. Rotor titles are different: they name the model and years, and say front or rear and fixed or floating. Compare the position on the bike with the one in the title.
Brembo questions
How do I tell a street pad from an off-road one? Read the product text. On the pads we checked it says either street or off-road.
Are Brembo rotors sold in pairs? Each listing is one rotor, so a bike with two front discs needs two.
Can I use a Brembo pad on any caliper? Only on the models named in the listing, so confirm the part number against your bike first.
