Bolt Motorcycle Hardware: Fastener Kits and Bolts by the Pack

Anyone who has stripped a case screw or lost a fairing bolt on the trail knows the problem Bolt sells into. We list about 420 Bolt products, and they are fasteners rather than flashy parts: bolt kits sorted by bike, loose bolts and nuts in 10-packs, and washers, plugs and rivets. The biggest shares sit in Mounts, Brackets & Hardware and Other Engine Parts, with more in Hardware & Fasteners and a few other places.

Bolt's About page, as reproduced by the retailer ToolsID, says the company is based on California's Central Coast, does its own design, assembly, packaging and shipping, and released its first product, the Japanese Track Pack, in 2003.

Kits, by how much of the bike you are doing

Pro Packs. The big hardware assortments, about 27 listings. Some are by brand, such as the Yamaha Pro Pack for WR/YZ, the Pro Pack for the KX250 and KX450 and the Beta four-stroke Pro Pack. Others go by piece count, like the 200-piece Japanese Pro Pack, the 145-piece European Pro Pack and the 250-piece Sportbike Pro Pack.

Track Packs. About 17 listings, from small kits such as the Honda Track Pack to six-pack sets like the Japanese Track Pack, 6 Pack and the ATV Track Pack, 6 Pack.

Engine and body work kits. The largest group: roughly 70 engine fastener kits and 46 body work kits, each named for a model and year range. See the Engine Fastener Kit for the '88-'07 Kawasaki KX250, the kit for the Yamaha Banshee 350 and the Body Work Fastener Kit for the '22-'26 Yamaha YZ125/250.

Loose hardware and small kits

Bolts and nuts. Flange bolts, Allen bolts, button-head bolts and Fuji locking nuts are sold in 10-packs by size, for example the M6 x 16 flange bolts, the M6 x 12 button-head Allen bolts and the M8 Fuji locking nuts. Fender washers and rivets are listed the same way.

Maintenance kits. There are Oil Change Hardware Kits for Honda, Yamaha and Kawasaki, plus drain plug washers and exhaust hardware kits such as the YZ250 kit. Wheel and drive items include rotor bolt packs and chain adjuster blocks.

Assortments. About two dozen listings, from the Allen bolt assortment, 372 pieces to the cotter pin assortment and Nylock nut assortment.

Choosing the right size

Fastener titles give thread and length: "M6 x 25" is a 6 mm thread, 25 mm long. Measure the bolt you are replacing, or buy the model-specific kit when your bike has one. Kits are listed by model and year range, so read the dates before ordering.

Bolt questions

What is the difference between a Pro Pack and a Track Pack? Both are assortments. The Pro Packs list larger piece counts, up to 250 pieces, while the Track Packs are listed as smaller kits or six-pack sets by brand.

Do the 10-packs include nuts? Only where the title says so. Bolts, nuts and washers are separate listings.

Is there a kit for my engine? Check the engine fastener kits: each names a model and years, such as Honda CR, CRF and Suzuki RM.
