About Wheels

A wheel is what the tire mounts on, and on a UTV or ATV it takes a lot of abuse from rocks, ruts and hard landings. Owners shop here to replace a bent or cracked wheel, to go wider for a bigger tire, to switch to a beadlock design, or simply to change how the machine looks.

Four specs decide whether a wheel fits and works. The bolt pattern must match the hub, and the listings show patterns such as 4/110, 4/137, 4/156 and 5/4.5. Diameter and width, such as 12x7, 14x7, 15x7 or 17x7, must suit the tire you plan to run. Offset is where the mounting face sits in the wheel. It appears as a split like 5+2 or as millimeters, and it changes how far the wheel and tire sit in or out, so it affects clearance.

The last choice is the style: a standard wheel, or a beadlock wheel that clamps the tire bead with a ring so the tire can be run at low pressure. Finishes include matte black, gloss black, bronze, machined and gunmetal.

Brands in this category include Excel, Sedona, AWC, AMS and ITP. Pick your machine in the Ride Finder at the top of the page to see wheels made for it. To complete the job, see Tires, Wheel Nuts, Bolts & Studs and Center Caps & Trim Rings. To find your pattern, see this UTV wheel bolt pattern guide.

FAQs on UTV and ATV wheels

What is wheel offset and why does it matter?

Offset describes where the wheel's mounting face sits relative to its centerline, written as a split such as 5+2 or in millimeters. It sets how far the tire sits toward or away from the machine, so the wrong offset can cause rubbing on suspension parts or fenders.

What is a beadlock wheel and is it worth it?

A beadlock wheel has an outer ring bolted to the wheel to clamp the tire bead in place, so the tire cannot spin on the rim at low pressure. It suits riders who run very low pressures on rocks or sand. Check the ring bolts regularly.

Does wheel diameter limit which tires I can use?

Yes. A tire is made for one rim diameter, so a 14 in. wheel takes tires marked 14, such as 28x10R14. Width matters too, so check the tire maker's list of approved rim widths. Changing diameter changes the tires available.

Will wider wheels fit my machine?

Possibly, but a wider wheel and its offset move the tire toward the fender and suspension. Check clearance at full steering lock and full suspension travel, and compare the listing's width and offset with your original wheel before ordering.

Do new wheels come with lug nuts and center caps?

Not always. Many wheels are sold without hardware, so check the listing. Lug nuts need to match the wheel's seat style and your stud thread, and center caps are often specific to a wheel model, so check the listing for what is included.
