About Fog Light Assemblies

Fog lights are low, wide lights that light the ground in front of the machine instead of throwing a beam far ahead. On a UTV or ATV, riders add them to see ruts and obstacles in dust, mist or snow, or as extra light at the front beside the headlights.

The listings here include pod lights in flood, spot and driving patterns, in the D-SS Pro and SR-M PRO series, and universal fog lights with a yellow lens in black or chrome. Shark Demon auxiliary lights in yellow are listed too. A flood pattern spreads wide and suits close-range use, a spot pattern narrows the beam and reaches farther, and a driving pattern sits between the two. Universal lights need brackets and a wiring harness, so check what each listing includes.

Brands here are Custom Dynamics and Rigid Industries. For related parts, see Headlight Assemblies, Hardware, Mounts & Brackets, Sockets, Connectors & Wiring and Lenses, all part of Lighting & Lamps.

FAQs on UTV and ATV fog lights

Where should fog lights be mounted?

Low and wide on the bumper or front body, aimed at the ground a short distance ahead. Light mounted high tends to bounce back off dust or fog and into your eyes. Aim them so they do not shine into oncoming riders' eyes.

Should I choose a spot or a flood pattern for fog and dust?

A flood pattern is usually the better choice because it spreads light wide and close to the machine. A spot beam throws light far ahead, which reflects off fog and dust more. Pick by how you ride.

Why are some fog lights yellow?

Many riders choose a yellow lens for dust, fog or snow because it can reduce glare in those conditions, though it is partly a matter of preference. Listings here include fog lights with a yellow lens.

Do fog lights need a relay?

Follow the light maker's instructions. Lights that draw significant current should be wired through a relay and fuse instead of straight through a switch, and the harness needs to match the number of lights you are running.
