About Body Parts

Body parts protect the sled and shape its look: bumpers, skid plates, tunnel protectors, snowflaps, hood latches and seat cover fabric. Owners shop here to repair a cracked or missing panel, to protect the machine after a tip-over or a hard ride, or to change the look.

Fit comes first. Listings name the model, year and often the chassis and track length, for example a 146 or 165 tunnel, and a bumper or protector for one length does not fit another. Colors are listed for many of the bumpers and skid plates. A snowflap hangs at the rear and controls the snow thrown by the track. Seat cover fabric is sold by size, such as 54 by 72 in., and is cut to fit, so measure your seat and allow for trimming. A hood latch is model-specific.

Brands here include Helix, CFR, Parts Unlimited, SPG and SP1. For other body-side items see Seats, Handlebars & Mirrors and Lighting, part of Snowmobile. Pick your sled in the Ride Finder at the top of the page.

FAQs on snowmobile body parts

What does a tunnel protector do?

A tunnel protector covers the tunnel, the structure the track runs under, so it takes scrapes and dings rather than the tunnel itself. It is cut for the model and tunnel length, such as 137 or 146, so match yours.

Why add a bumper to a snowmobile?

A bumper protects the front or rear of the sled from impacts and gives you something solid to grab when you lift or turn it. Listings are made for specific models and chassis, so check the years and track length.

Will a bumper for one track length fit another?

Not necessarily. The tunnel length changes with track length, and mounting points can differ between chassis. Listings name the chassis and the track length, such as 146 or 165, so match both before you order.

What is a snowflap for?

A snowflap is a flap at the rear of the tunnel that limits the snow thrown by the track and keeps it from spraying over the machine and riders behind. Listings name the model and year it is cut for.

How do I measure for a seat cover fabric?

Measure the seat's length and width at the widest points, and add some extra for wrapping and trimming. Compare with the fabric size in the listing, such as 54 by 72 in., and cut once you have checked it.
