Fenders
About Fenders
Fenders keep mud, water and debris off the rider, the engine and the rear of the bike, and they are among the first panels to crack in a crash. This category lists front and rear fenders in OEM colors for Husqvarna, Yamaha, KTM, Gas Gas, Honda and Suzuki dirt bikes, a Softail front fender for Harley-Davidson M8 models, fender skins, stainless fender rivets and a back panel for the Can-Am Defender.
Front and rear fenders are listed separately, and each is made for a model and year range. For dirt bikes the color is in the title, such as an OEM orange for a particular year, and it matches the factory plastic of that year. Pick your bike in the Ride Finder at the top of the page. Plan for the rest of the job: rivets, brackets and mounting hardware, and on a rear fender, the plate and lighting if your model has them.
Brands here include Ciro, Drag Specialties, Parts Unlimited, Custom Dynamics and Arlen Ness. If you want a shorter tail instead, see Fender Eliminators. For whole sets of panels see Fairings, Plastics & Body Kits, and for fasteners see Mounts, Brackets & Hardware. The wider group is Body & Frame.
FAQs on motorcycle fenders
Will a fender made for another year bolt onto my bike?
Often not. Mounting points, shapes and factory colors change between model years, so use the year range named in the listing. A fender for a similar model can look right and still miss the mounts, so check the model and the years before ordering.
Do replacement fenders come painted?
Plastic dirt bike fenders are normally molded in a color, such as the OEM colors named in the listings, while fenders for other bikes can be finished differently. Read the finish in the listing, and compare the color with your other plastics.
What else do I need to replace a rear fender?
Look at what holds the old one on: bolts, rivets, brackets and sometimes a seat or side panel that has to come off first. Stainless fender rivets are listed in this category. Check the service manual for the order of removal, and replace any damaged mounts.
Why do plastic fenders crack at the mounts?
Vibration, impacts and overtightened bolts concentrate stress at the mounting points. Use washers or grommets where the original had them, tighten gently, and replace worn rubber mounts so the fender is not rattling on its bolts.
