JT SPROCKETS

JT Sprockets: Front and Rear Sprockets, Rotors and Chain

A JT Sprockets title is mostly numbers, and once you know how to read them the catalog goes quickly. We list about 1,390 JT products, almost all of them in Sprockets, with a smaller group of brake rotors and a few chains. Most titles name Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki or Yamaha, and KTM, Husqvarna, BMW, Triumph, Ducati, Beta and Aprilia appear as well.

JT's own site says its sprockets are hobbed, machined and drilled, then heat treated and hand finished.

Rear sprockets

Steel rear sprockets. The largest group, about 600 listings with JTR part numbers. Titles give the model, tooth count and sometimes the chain size, for example the JTR1800.47 steel rear sprocket for the Suzuki Hayabusa and Bandit 1250, the 46-tooth BMW/Ducati sprocket, the KTM 42-tooth and the ATV sprocket for the Yamaha Raptor 700R and YFZ450R. Older bikes are covered too, such as the 35-tooth 630 sprocket for the '73-'75 Kawasaki KZ900/Z1.

Aluminum, Racelite and Twinstar. About 160 listings carry JTA part numbers and are sold in colors such as black, red and gold, like the black 44-tooth for Honda; about 55 of them say aluminum in the title. Racelite aluminum sprockets have 17 listings, among them the red 55-tooth 420 sprocket for the Honda CR85 and CRF150R. JTX Twinstar sprockets are a small group of 12, including the 47-tooth graphite Twinstar for Beta and Honda.

Front sprockets, rotors and chain

Front (countershaft) sprockets. About 570 listings, sold by tooth count and model. Examples include the 15-tooth front for the Ninja ZX-6R, the 16-tooth front for the KLR 650 and the 13-tooth front for the KX 250 F.

Brake rotors. Thirty-five JTD listings, all stainless and titled "self cleaning," split into front and rear pieces. The JTD1010SC01 front and JTD1009SC01 rear rotors for the '96-'18 Honda CRF150R are a pair. They are filed in Brake Disc Rotors.

Chain. Seven heavy-duty HDR chains are listed in 420, 428 and 520 sizes, such as the 420 HDR chain in 76 links. For other sizes see Final Drive Belts & Chains.

Matching a sprocket to your bike

Check three things: the chain size, the tooth count and the bike. A "47T-530" in a title means 47 teeth for a 530 chain, and a sprocket for a different chain size will not mesh with yours. If you change tooth counts, remember that front and rear sprockets are separate listings. Our chain size chart helps you identify what is on the bike.

JT Sprockets questions

Do front and rear sprockets come as a set? No. Each has its own listing, so you add both if you are replacing both.

What does the number after the part code mean? In most titles it is the tooth count, such as JTR899.42 for 42 teeth.

Do you list JT sprockets for ATVs? Yes, about 140 listings are in the UTV | ATV sprockets category.
