Burly Brand Ape Hangers, Cable Kits and Lowering Shocks

Burly Brand listings come down to two decisions: which bar, and which cables and brake lines fit that bar on your bike. We list about 570 Burly Brand products for Harley-Davidson and a few metric cruisers, nearly all under Motorcycle. Around 110 are bars in Handlebars and roughly 260 are cable and control kits in Other Handlebars, Grips & Controls. Shocks, floorboards, sissy bars and luggage fill out the rest.

Burly Brand's own About page says the company has operated since 1996 and describes itself as a maker of motorcycle lowering kits, handlebars and cable kits.

Handlebars

Ape hangers and Gorillas. Ape Hanger shows up in about 250 titles, counting bars and the kits made for them, in heights of 12, 14, 16 and 18 inches. The Gorilla Ape TBW bar in 16-inch chrome is one example, and about 28 titles use the Gorilla name.

Named bends. Louie has about 20 listings, such as the Louie B 19-inch in black. Late-model Softail and touring bars include the Dominator for '23-'26 Softail and the Jason for '23-'26 Road Glide. Smaller bars include the 14-inch Folsom and the 8-inch Viejocito.

Risers and grips. The Reaper 1-1/2 inch riser set is listed for 1-inch bars. Grips, Covers & Pads has the Slash Cut grips and the Hawk grips for '82-'17 Harley-Davidson.

Cable and brake line kits

A taller or wider bar needs longer lines, so the kit is sold by bar height, year range and options. Titles name black vinyl or stainless braided, and about 50 mention ABS and about 20 cruise control. Examples are the complete black vinyl kit for 14-inch ape hangers, '15-'16 FLTR, the stainless braided 14-inch kit, the Jail Bar cable kit for '18-'24 Softail and the 13-inch bagger bar kit for early touring bikes.

Suspension and body

Shocks & Coil Overs and Lowering & Lift Kits hold about 30 Slammer listings: the 12.2-inch Slammer shock, the Slammer Plus for XL and the Slammer suspension kit for '04-'15 XL. The nine Stiletto shocks include a 12.5-inch version for '17-'25 Honda.

Elsewhere, Footrests, Foot Pegs & Pedal Pads carries the MX-Evolution rider floorboards. Backrests includes the 20-inch tall sissy bar for '04-'22 Sportster. The Brawler kit for Touring and the Brawler kit for Dyna are listed by model family, and the Tank Tail Bag sits in the same range.

Matching the part

Check the bar height, the bike's year range and whether it has ABS or cruise before you add a cable kit. Titles list those details, and about 160 name touring models, 70 Sportster, 45 Softail and 30 Dyna. A few items, such as the Rebel 1100 chain guard, are for Honda.

Why do some bar titles say TBW? About 20 titles carry the tag, such as the Beach Bar TBW in chrome and the Gorilla Ape TBW above. The tag is part of the product name, so match the full title to your bike's year and model.
