BARNETT
Barnett Clutch Kits, Cables and Plates
If a clutch lever feels vague or a throttle cable has stretched past adjusting, Barnett is one of the first names to check. We list about 1,040 Barnett products, and nearly all of them sit in two places: Clutch Parts & Kits and Throttle, Idle & Cruise Control Cables, with a smaller set of brake lines.
According to Cycle News, Charlie and Afton Barnett started the company in a Huntington Park, California storefront in 1948, and the article says its products are made in-house in the USA.
Cables, by material and series
Clutch cables. The largest single group, about 210 listings in Clutch Cables. Titles name the material and length: High-Efficiency Black Vinyl, standard size, the +6" size, a High-Efficiency Stainless Steel cable for '18-'23 Softail, plus Platinum Series and Stealth Series versions. Indian owners will find a stainless cable for Indian Touring, and there are Victory cables as well.
Throttle and idle cables. About 260 more, mostly Harley-Davidson. Examples include the stainless throttle cable for V-Rod, the Platinum Series throttle cable for '02-'17 V-Rod and the Stealth Series throttle cable, +6", for '06-'17 FX models.
Plates, kits and Scorpion clutches
Plates and springs. Friction plates, drive plates and spring sets are sold separately, from the Kevlar friction plate for Honda to the Kawasaki/Polaris/Suzuki spring set. Browse Clutch Plates & Discs and Clutch Springs.
Complete kits. About 140 listings in Complete Clutches & Kits. The Extra Plate Clutch Kit in Kevlar for M8 Harleys, the carbon fiber kit for the Yamaha YZF-R6 and the Dirt Digger kit for the Honda TRX250 show the spread across street, dirt and ATV.
Scorpion clutches and tools. Around 30 listings carry the Scorpion name, among them the Scorpion Clutch Basket for '17-'25 M8, the Hydraulic Scorpion Clutch for Dyna and Big Twin and the Scorpion hub puller. Spring compression tools, such as the one for '01-'17 Victory, are listed too.
Before you order
Barnett parts are model-specific, and the SKU often carries a length code. Check the year range and the "+3", "+6" or "+8" size in the title against the cable you are replacing, and confirm whether the bike has a hydraulic or cable clutch before choosing a kit.
Barnett questions
Can I buy just the plates? Yes. Friction and drive plates have their own listings, separate from complete kits.
What do "+6" and "Standard" mean on cable titles? They are the length options listed for that model, so match the one you need to the original cable.
Do you list brake lines? Yes, about two dozen, such as the upper brake line in black.
